We had this fabric panel sitting in the $6.00 Sale Bin for quite awhile.  I kept looking at it - really liked the colours in it. 
Then wondered what it would look like as 2 1/2" strips. 

Not bad.  Then wondered what it would look like as 2 1/2" squares, especially interested in how the black stripe would work out.
Liked it even better.  Then I started to play.....

Now here it is ready for quilting....

If you have a fabric that you're not sure how to use, try chopping it into strips, squares, etc.  You may be greeted by something very interesting.

I've been posting about the Ailsa Craig Community Quilt Festival on our Facebook page and will update this page later today.  It's been a roller coaster of events.  This is a sample of the beginning - car broke down on the way to the show to set up the booth (LOL):
News about the Hyde Park Road closure Wednesday and Thursday, May 20 & 21:  The  contractor will minimize the impact of that construction on traffic.  
The following will apply for the 20th and 21st:

·         1 lane of north bound and 1 lane of south bound traffic on Hyde Park Road will remain open with intermittent flagged stop and go traffic….necessary for the large crane;
·         NO LEFT TURNS south bound on Hyde Park Road at Gainsborough;
·         NO LEFT TURNS north bound on Hyde Park Road at Gainsborough;
·         Gainsborough Road will be open and operate as normal.

Update #1:
Cornerstone Quilts will be a vendor at the Ailsa Craig Community Quilt Festival, Monday - Wednesday, May 18-20th - the shop will be closed during this time.  It will be located at the Recreation Centre, 155 Annie Ada Shipley Street, Ailsa Craig.  The Quilts of France will be showcased - hope to see you there. 

 Update #2:
You might have seen signs on Hyde Park Road regarding May 20 and 21. The road will be closed to through traffic about 30m north of Gainsborough. Access to businesses can be made by coming down Fanshawe to Hyde Park Rd. Installation of water main and connections will be made during this time. Friday, May 22nd, everything should be back to normal.
